Practical
1 : You are required to prepare a hard disk using Fdisk and format. and then install a command line operating system.   You are to document this as a standard procedure. 

2:  (M4 + D2 ) you will then continue to install and configure a graphical operating system,  Due to space constraints, use the minimum install options.   You are required to configure the system for some one who has partially impaired vision,  create a shortcut on the desktop to a named application.  Test and document the system. (Identify using screen prints configuration details for example , Hardware properties,screen resolution  and shortcuts)

3: (P6)   distinguish between a command line interface and a graphical interface, by identifying examples of each and stating briefly their differences.  Identify a function in the graphical operating system and identify an equivalent in the command line operating system.

Outcomes

M4 configure the apperance and operation of a general-purpose software package to meet particular users needs.

D2 Configure the desktop of a GUI operating system and provide application shortcuts
 to meet particular users requirements.

P6 Distinguish between a command line interface and a GUI based operating system and use examples of computer maintainance tasks to illustrate how user interaction is simplified by the Gui approach.
